Chaga Recipes

Chaga extracts can be added to nearly anything to give you the antioxidant boost you need and deserve.  We add our Chaga double extracts to coffee, juices, mixed drinks and water.  You can even add them to foods.  Extracts can be flavored or unflavored, depending on your taste preference.
The following are some of our Chaga recipes that we enjoy.  We hope you enjoy them too!  Experiment with recipes of your own.  If you find one you like, please share with us!
CHAGA TEA
Cook 2 Tablespoons of our ground Chaga, with one gallon of filtered water, over medium heat for 45 minutes.  Stir often.  Filter the liquid out of the grounds.  Serve hot or cold, with or without condiments such as sugar, honey or milk.  Save and dehydrate, or freeze, the grounds for future use.
HOT TEA
Add Chaga grounds  to an empty tea bag (you can buy them online or at your local tea shop).  Steep in a coffee mug of hot water for 5 minutes or until desired taste or color.  Set tea bag aside for future use (it can be used a few times).  Add condiments to your liking.
ALCOHOL TINCTURE (CONCENTRATE)
Mix 4-6 ounces of our Chaga grounds with one liter of 80 or 100 proof vodka or other alcohol (use flavored alcohol for different tincture flavors).  Let sit 3-4 weeks, shaking daily.  Filter the liquid from the grounds.  Use liquid as desired.  Either dehydrate, or freeze, grounds for future use or immediately begin a soak and cook in hot water to make a water extract to add to the alcohol tincture to make a double extract.
WATER EXTRACT (CONCENTRATE)
Mix 4-6 ounces of our Chaga grounds with one gallon of filtered water.  Cook over medium heat for 4-5 hours.  Stir often.  Filter the liquid from the grounds and store the liquid in the refrigerator for use in teas, etc.  For flavored water extracts, use the grounds that you have left from making a flavored alcohol tincture.  Save grounds and dehydrate, or freeze, for future use.
  DOUBLE EXTRACT
Double your antioxidant power.  Make your own double extract by combining a 50/50 mixture of water extracts and alcohol tinctures.
COLD LEMON TEA
Mix one squeezed lemon with one gallon of filtered water.  Add Chaga unflavored double extract, alcohol tincture, or water extract to desired flavor or color.  Add additional condiments if so desired.
BLUEBERRY TEA
Add 3-6 eyedroppers of our Chaga Double Extract Blueberry flavored to 8 -12 ounces of hot or cold filtered water.  Add condiments if desired.
RASPBERRY TEA
Add 3-6 eyedroppers of our Chaga Double Extract Raspberry flavored to 8-12 ounces of hot or cold filtered water.  Add condiments if desired.
